The Alchemist (born Alan Daniel Maman on October 25, 1977) is an American record producer, DJ, and rapper from Beverly Hills, California. Renowned for his gritty, sample-heavy style, he rose to fame in the late 1990s producing for Mobb Deep, Dilated Peoples, and other East Coast hip-hop acts. Over the years, he’s become one of the most respected producers in hip-hop, working with artists like Eminem, Nas, Freddie Gibbs, Conway the Machine, and many more. The Alchemist is also known for his collaborative projects, such as Alfredo with Freddie Gibbs and LULU with Conway.
